MBA in International Management at Schiller International University

All SIU locations are ideal for SIU’s graduate programs in international business administration. They offer accessibility to regional and world headquarters of numerous multinational corporations and the wealth of information available in public libraries, embassies, high commissions and various international organizations makes important contributions to SIU’s programs of study in business. Course work for the Master of Business Administration degree concentrates on the more detailed aspects of international marketing, management, finance and economics. Degree requirements have been designed to provide practical knowledge and training for future business executives.

The 45-semester-credit program leading to the MBA degree in International Business may be completed during two semesters and one summer session on a full-time basis, or in a minimum of two years on a part-time basis if students have undergraduate business studies. Students may transfer from one campus to the other and complete their degree requirements. Students with bachelor’s degrees in other fields may complete MBA preparatory courses, receiving an MBA degree in one and a half years, completing 51 credits.

Admission

Completion of one of the following:
a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree or its equivalent
a Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, with a major in business studies or economics, provided that core courses in the following areas have been completed: Economics, Statistics, Business Law, Marketing, Management,and Accounting
Or completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in a non-business field, followed by a postgraduate diploma in business, which fulfils the requirements of the MBA preparatory program at Schiller or its equivalent elsewhere, or by undergraduate or graduate core courses in the above listed areas. For admission to the part-time MBA program on weekends at the Strasbourg campus candidates must be local residents and must have been employed full-time.

Graduation Requirements
In addition to the graduation requirements for all graduate students (see “Graduate Academic Regulations”), candidates for the Master of Business Administration degree in International Business must complete the following requirements:
A minimum of 45 semester credits at the graduate level, composed of courses listed in the link below or acceptable substitutes approved by the Program Advisor must be fulfilled. Graduate courses in the following seven core subject areas must be successfully completed: finance, advanced accounting, international management, international marketing, production management, methods of research and analysis, and a capstone course. Students who have not had information technology coursework will be required to take an IT course. These course requirements are listed in the download link below.
A final oral comprehensive examination or, subject to the decision of the Program Advisor, a thesis requiring a formal oral defense in lieu of the comprehensive examination. The thesis is in addition to the 45 credit requirement. Distance learning students may petition to take their comprehensive exam in written form.
Submission of score on Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).Please note that an official copy of the GMAT score, which we must receive directly from ETS, is required for graduation. Schiller International University’s official school GMAT number is 0835. Students are responsible for the costs associated with the test.

Students should have a proficient level of English competence, both orally and written. English as a Foreign Language courses are offered to prepare those students who may need them for this program. A TOEFL score of 550 is expected.
