The School of Business Administration’s B.B.A. in International Business degree program prepares students to excel in positions involving global trade and commerce by imparting the business and communication skills needed to compete internationally.
Available as a primary or secondary major, the international business major combines courses in international accounting, marketing, economics, finance, management, information systems, operations management and cultural anthropology with foreign-language study. A study abroad experience is strongly recommended.

With advances in modern technology, today’s marketplace is becoming more and more global. Companies that once confined their work to a local market are now doing business with suppliers and customers around the world. To remain competitive, these companies are increasingly turning to leaders with relevant knowledge, experience and training in international business practices.
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in International Business is designed to draw on a range of disciplines, including law, accounting, management, marketing, finance, business, economics, and information systems in order to help prepare students to become global business leaders. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the framework for analyzing the firm and understanding the challenges faced by business in an international marketplace.
The BBA also provides a foundation for students who wish to pursue an advanced degree at the Master’s level. The BBA degree meets the lower-levels requirement (180 credits) of the Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Graduation Requirements
The Master’s degree is conferred upon satisfactory completion of required quarter units. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is required.
Up to 16 quarter units (4 courses) of coursework can be accepted for transfer credits from another institution. At least 24 quarter units (6 courses) must be completed in residency at the California University of Management and Sciences. Deviations and substitutions for the requirements must be approved by the Academic Dean.

International Business Co-op program
The program examines international business issues from a strategic perspective while offering exposure to several disciplines including international management, marketing, finance, as well as international aspects of politics, economics, and sociology. Students benefit from the program’s practical orientation toward the exporting of goods and services, dealing with the challenges of a complex multicultural and multilingual marketplace, and exposure to the legal implications of operating within a global environment.
Performing on-site audits of international standards procedures and implementation
Studying the implications and repercussions of international policy change on domestic and international markets
Local and international sourcing, allocation and distribution of industrial materials
Short and long term forecasts for product sales and competition in key markets

The International Affairs and Commerce major is designed for students with a particular interest in economics, or an intention of working in international business. The option of international business prepares students for managerial careers in the global marketplace. It is interdisciplinary in nature and emphasizes the development of foreign language skills as well as an understanding of the social, cultural, and political aspects of the international environment. The curriculum provides the opportunity to develop the analytical and decision-making skills necessary for effective participation in the global challenges facing business today. The international business option includes specialized course, study abroad opportunities, and international internships. It is designed to not only assist students in developing skills needed to compete in world markets, but also to contribute to their preparations for careers in export marketing and export sales management, global sourcing, international finance and banking, international economics, international accounting and management of the multinational firm.
