PRO GRAM DES CRIPTION
The 39-credit master’s of science degree program in international business,
which is accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business
Education (IACBE), combines specialized training in international business
with a strong foundation in a foreign language, research, communication,
ethics and interpersonal skills. Students will be able to combine theoretical
and practical knowledge through fieldwork experiences. Options include
business internship opportunities with U.S. offices of multinational
corporations as well as opportunities to combine work and study abroad.
Rapid changes in the global economy and the explosive growth in
international trade and investment makes it necessary that managers be
trained in:

Prerequisites
1. Baccalaureate degree in business (students with baccalaureate degrees in
fields other than business may be required to take two additional courses
in business)*
2. An undergraduate course in computer science or its equivalent
3. A minimum of a three-credit statistics course
* Students with baccalaureate degrees in fields other than business may be
required to take MGT 412 – Business Policy and MGT 315 – Corporate
Finance prior to entering the master’s degree program in international
business. These courses will be required should the student lack basic
knowledge in principles of business (for example, accounting/finance,
marketing, economics, business law, management or business statistics).
Each student will be evaluated and advised on an individual basis. The
director of the international business program may allow students to waive
prerequisite courses based upon an evaluation of any relevant previous
coursework or work experience.
COREQU ISITE language requirement
Minimum competency in a modern foreign language or 12 college-level
credits in foreign language must be fulfilled prior to completion of the
program.
